Trump or Harris? Polls show a very close competition between the two candidates, but on Alexander's side, the choice has been made for a few days.
It's Kamala Harris. The 30-year-old man voted online from Nantes. He has lived there for five years. “I always wanted to live in France. The dream came true and I don't plan to leave again right away, especially when I see what the United States is becoming.”supports the native of Seattle, in the middle of the administrative procedures to obtain French nationality.
This Tuesday evening, Alexander's program is all mapped out. As soon as the polling stations close, he will turn on his television to keep up to date with the results, state by state, as the counting takes place. “I'm going to stay up all night”he assures.
Although he now lives in Nantes, he still feels very concerned by what is happening across the Atlantic. “My family still lives in Seattle, and I still have friends there. So what may impact them also impacts me.”he emphasizes.
Certainly a Democrat, the thirty-year-old did not hesitate to check Kamala Harris' name when voting on the Internet. However, whatever the result, he says he is worried: “Whether Trump loses or wins, I'm afraid”.
Alexander is still marked by the assault on the Capitol by voters of the American businessman on January 6, 2021, in recognition of the results of the last presidential election. “If he loses, his supporters will want war,” he fears. During his meetings, the candidate did not stop sowing doubt about the reliability of the vote.
If Trump wins, I will go to the United States less. My country disgusts me when it is governed by this man.

For Alexander, this presidential election is the most distressing of all those he has experienced so far. “This is not the first time we have dealt with Donald Trump. We were already wary of him in 2016, but now he is downright scary”believes the man.
He said he was particularly shocked by the “vulgar” and “insulting” vocabulary used by the candidate throughout his campaign. “A presidential candidate should not speak this way”deplores the Nantes resident.
As for Donald Trump's program, Alexander particularly disapproves of his migration policy and his positions on abortion. Even if he promises to veto if a national ban on abortion is passed, the businessman appointed three Supreme Court justices who helped challenge its legality when he was president.
“If Trump wins, I will go less to the United States. My country disgusts me when it is governed by this man”supports Alexander. A few hours before the start of the counting, the Nantes resident tries to understand those who vote for the New York billionaire. “It's probably his personality that's reassuring. He gives the impression of being reliable and of being able to save everything… A bit like a kind of guru”he analyzes, in a bitter tone.
