The investigation is still ongoing after the death of a man during the night from Thursday to Friday at Chateauroux. According to the first elements, the victim would be of Ivorian nationality. She would have been 24 to 25 years old and died at Châteauroux hospital on Friday at 2:30 a.m. She would have succumbed to numerous stabbing. This Friday, June 7, no suspect has yet been arrested.

If this new murder, the fourth in six weeks, is not linked to the previous ones, which already had no links between them, the Châteauroux town hall and the Indre prefecture announce to take common measures to try to stop this cycle of violence.

Reinforced controls

THE police reinforcements arrived on Wednesday, after the murder in the Saint-Jean district, will be kept in place and will ensure regular patrols. The town hall requests that groups consuming alcohol be systematically controlled and that suspects be searched for limit the proliferation of bladed weaponsthe type of weapon at the origin of three of the four murders in recent weeks.

The consumption of alcohol on public roads will be strictly regulated from this Friday, June 7. Takeaway alcohol sales is now prohibited from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the morning, until July 26, the start date of the Olympic Games. Consumption of alcohol in the street, parks and more generally on public roads is also prohibited from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., with the exception of June 21, the music festival, and July 14.
