Taha O., the main suspect in the murder of Philippine in September, who was arrested in Switzerland, must be extradited to France on Wednesday, a source close to the case told AFP on Monday, confirming information from CNews.
He was heard again this Monday by the public prosecutor of the canton of Geneva and confirmed his consent to a surrender to France according to a simplified extradition procedure, the Paris prosecutor’s office indicated.
His lawyer in Switzerland, Me Florence Yersin, had already announced last Tuesday that he had accepted this extradition, after initially refusing it. However, the date of his transfer was not known.
Philippine, a 19-year-old student at Paris-Dauphine University, was found buried in the Bois de Boulogne, in western Paris, on September 21. A judicial investigation was opened for rape and homicide.
Taha O., a 22-year-old Moroccan and the main suspect, was arrested at Geneva’s main station on September 24.
