Sunday, November 1, an accident involving a car towing a caravan severely disrupted traffic on the A28 motorway, shortly after the junction with the A10 towards Le Mans.
According to France Bleu, the incident occurred around 1:40 p.m., in the town of Chanceaux-sur-Choisille (Indre-et-Loire), leading to the complete shutdown of the axis for several hours.
Interrupted traffic and 5 km traffic jam
To allow the evacuation of damaged vehicles, traffic was completely interrupted between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. As a result, a major traffic jam of nearly 5 kilometers formed before the incident, complicating the return to normal.
No serious injuries
According to Vinci Autoroutes, despite the scale of the accident, no serious injuries were reported. The intervention services quickly secured the scene and cleared the lane, allowing traffic to resume in the middle of the afternoon.
