Russia to send nuclear submarine, warships to Cuba
The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that Moscow would send three warships and a nuclear-powered submarine next week. “This visit is part of the historically friendly relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation and strictly respects the international rules to which Cuba is a party,” underlines Havana, through a press release taken up by Reuters and Associated Press. And to specify: “None of these ships carry nuclear weapons (…) Consequently, their stopover in our country represents no threat to the region”.
