A fire broke out in a house on rue des Pâquis in Grand-Charmont this Sunday morning. Alerted around 7 a.m., firefighters from Montbéliard and Bethoncourt quickly intervened on the scene.
Three activated lances
The disaster, of unknown origin, broke out on the ground floor, before spreading upstairs and to the rear facade of this terraced house located in the heart of the town.
The twenty firefighters deployed on site were able to bring the disaster under control using three hoses, one of which was operated from the large ladder.
An octogenarian, the sole occupant of the premises, had already left the house before the arrival of emergency services. Disturbed by the smoke, she was examined by the firefighters.
Town hall on alert
Ravaged by fire and water, his apartment is no longer habitable as it is. The victim's family was responsible for finding accommodation for him this Sunday. “We are providing support for this elderly lady and her family. From this Monday, the CCAS services will be responsible for finding the best lasting solution for her,” explains Aurélie Dzierzynski, mayor of Grand-Charmont.
