The Ukrainian general staff reported fighting in the surrounding area without mentioning a capture of the village of Vyshneve.
The Russian army said on Sunday (November 3) that its forces had taken control of the village of Vyshneve, in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, as they continue their advance towards the logistics and railway hub from Pokrovsk.

In a report posted this afternoon on Facebook, the Ukrainian General Staff said Russian forces had launched 19 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. “By containing the pressure, the defense forces repelled enemy attacks,” the staff said.
The occupying forces are concentrating their efforts on the villages of Promin and Vyshneve. The village of Vyshneve is close to Selydove, an important town that the Russian army claimed its capture last week.
On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have captured two more villages on the eastern front. Russian forces have been focused on capturing the entire Donbass – made up of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions – since an initial unsuccessful push on Kyiv in the days after the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
