25 studio albums, 50 years of career, 95 million records sold and finally a farewell tour…Michel Sardou is undoubtedly an icon of French song. He is nicknamed “the indomitable”, in a documentary retracing his journey and to be found this Thursday evening on W9. So let’s take a look at him, on the sidelines of this broadcast. And in particular to his wife Anne-Périer, whom he married on October 11, 1999. Who is she?

In 2016, she gave an interview to our colleagues at JDDin which we learned that she had a rather happy childhood, in a privileged environment: “I did not suffer from the absence of a mother because my father was my sun.” But then she experienced two family tragedies. Namely the disappearances of two of her brothers, Jean-Pierre Périer and Marc Porel, because of drugs. The first defenestrated himself, and the other died of an overdose.

There are only two of us left, so Jean-Marie and I are hanging on. I was 20 years old when Jean-Pierre committed suicide and the memory has not faded. Time has not erased anything“, recounted Anne-Marie Périer in this interview, she who had, unlike her childhood, a rather difficult adolescence: “I lived outside of reality. I was unable to adapt to school. People scared me.”
