A judge on Thursday ordered Steve Bannon, former close adviser to Donald Trump and leading figure of the populist right, to report to prison by July 1 to serve his sentence for contempt of the US Congress.
Steve Banon, 70, was sentenced in 2022 to four months in prison for his refusal to respond to subpoenas from the commission of inquiry into January 6, responsible for shedding light on the role of Donald Trump in the assault on Capitol.
He immediately announced his intention to appeal, de facto suspending the application of the sentence.
More details to come.
