Sao Paulo: Grand Prix qualifying postponed to Sunday

The rain was heavier than all this Saturday in Brazil. After a fairly calm sprint contested under beautiful sunshine, qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix scheduled four hours later did not take place today, due to torrential rain falling on the circuit.

Initially scheduled for 7 p.m. French time, the session was postponed to 7:30 p.m., then to 8 p.m., 8:15 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 8:45 p.m. then finally 9 p.m., before the race management decided to postpone the session to Sunday, due to the imminence of the sunset at 6:21 p.m. local time and the lack of improvement in the Brazilian sky.

The postponement of the session to Sunday finally fell at 8:47 p.m. French time, without us yet knowing the schedule. The decision on the exact time will be made on Sunday morning depending on the conditions on the track, as there is uncertainty regarding Sunday due to the forecast forecast with further rain in prospect.

Note that in the event that the qualifying session cannot take place, it would be the EL1 classification which would govern the Grand Prix grid, with Lando Norris in pole position and Max Verstappen (15th in the session) 20th following his penalty five-seater scooped for engine change. On the spectator side, ensures that all tickets sold were 3-day packs, and this will allow fans not to miss anything of the program initially planned.
