You all play very special characters. What were your main inspirations for your respective roles?

Dafne David Bowie and Obi-Wan Kenobi (laughter).

Charlie I watched a lot of old films and series in which there were Jedi. To try to understand what my character Yord would feel walking these halls, seeing Jedi he respected, what he would be drawn to.

Rebecca If you’re playing a Jedi, you obviously need to see every show that has Jedi in it! But it was useful and scary.

Amanda For the role of Osha, I thought of characters like Han Solo. I wanted it to have that same warmth and approachability. In the case of my other character Mei, I was inspired by Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. There is this line of dialogue where I say: “Attack me with all your might.” When I read it in the script, I thought it was a ridiculous thing to say out loud, but I thought of Uma Thurman’s voice as I approached that line. And when I watch her on screen today, I love her. It’s a bit kitsch, but it fits so well with this mix of action and science fiction that is Star Wars.
