A “ripped truck” in Zaventem: the driver lost his life

The Brussels ring road closed in Zaventem after a truck accident which claimed the life of the driver.

The Brussels ring road was closed around 6 a.m. in both directions near Zaventem. Two lanes have been released towards Waterloo, but the roadway remains closed in the other direction. An accident involving a truck occurred there and cost the life of its driver. The Flemish Mobility Center (Vlaams Verkeerscentrum) asks motorists to avoid the area.

Around 5:00 a.m., a truck rolled onto the ring near Zaventem-Henneaulaan and crossed the central berm. The driver died, federal police confirmed. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which caused a fuel leak. The truck also lost part of its grain load.
