As part of its operations to fight crime, the Criminal Investigations Division of the Judicial Police Directorate (DPJ) has just clarified three (03) cases of murder committed, from May 15 to June 3, 2024, in the city from Niamey.
The first case concerns the discovery of a corpse in advanced decomposition in the Daressalam district. The victim was a 66-year-old man and investigations made it possible to arrest the perpetrator of the murder, a young man aged 24, son of the victim who lived with her. He was referred to the prosecution of the High Court of Niamey.
The second case relates to the suspicious death of a 33-year-old woman in a hotel room in Niamey. Investigations led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who had spent the night with the victim. He said he committed the crime under the influence of alcohol, after an argument.
The third case concerns a murder committed in the Gamkalley district. A 25-year-old man was killed with a bladed weapon (a knife) on June 2, 2024. Investigations made it possible to find and arrest the suspect who had fled Niamey to take refuge in Dosso.
