a couple indicted for the murder of two men

A couple, suspected of having killed two men with several stab wounds in Finistère (), was arrested and indicted, we learned this Thursday.

A sordid affair. A 26-year-old couple was indicted this Thursday for the murders of two men as well as the fire of an apartment in a public housing project in Douarnenez (Finistère), announced the prosecutor's office.

On November 9, around 6:20 a.m., the gendarmes were carrying out a patrol when they saw smoke coming from a HLM apartment located near the port of Tréboul, in Douarnenez.

On site, they discovered a 44-year-old man at the foot of the building, shirtless, barefoot, wearing bloody jeans. Victim of 16 stab wounds, he died shortly after emergency services arrived.

Another body was found, that of the 61-year-old victim, in the burned and completely destroyed apartment. The autopsy revealed that he also died from multiple stab wounds.

Already sentenced

The two suspects are known to the courts for acts of intentional violence. They were arrested last Monday in and then placed in police custody.

These are “investigations carried out in the immediate environment of the victims” which made it possible to establish “that a couple had spent the evening preceding the events” in their company, before disappearing “suddenly”, according to a press release from the prosecution.

Presented to an investigating judge, the couple was indicted for murder, murder of a vulnerable person, alteration of a crime scene and damage to the property of others by dangerous means.

Placed in pre-trial detention, the suspects “run the risk of life imprisonment”, underlined the prosecution.
