Scheduled for September 2025, the “New Linéo 7” will connect Paul Sabatier University to Saint-Orens-de-Gameville, strengthening the transport offer in the south of Toulouse. Its route, based on the current line 78, will be subject to adjustments to optimize service.
In September 2025, Tisséo will launch the “New Linéo 7”, a high-frequency bus line, which will connect Paul Sabatier University, south of Toulouse, to the town of Saint-Orens-de-Gameville. There has already been an L7 line, between Toulouse and the Saint-Orens shopping center. But its route was taken over by line L9 in 2022.
This project responds to a need to adapt the bus network in the Toulouse metropolis. The future Linéo line will largely follow the route of the current line 78, in a revised version. Consideration is underway on the adjustments to be made.
An ongoing reflection on the location of the Linéo 7 terminus in Saint-Orens
“Line L7, which will serve Saint-Orens-de-Gameville (…), is currently being adjusted. The technicians are working in particular on the terminal part of the line, in order to bring the terminus closer to the municipalities of Escalquens and Labège », informed the Saint-Orens Town Hall in a press release, this Monday, October 28. “All Linéo lines aim to better serve municipalities by guaranteeing an efficient network and optimized routes for citizens. »
The transformation of line 78 into Linéo 7 will make it possible to strengthen service to the Catala and Corail districts. “As planned, the Orée du bois district will also be served, offering better connectivity to local infrastructure,” specifies the municipality. A consultation with residents was held on October 24, 2024, during which local residents were able to discuss their expectations and needs.
Work to be planned for the arrival of the new bus line
“The new route of Linéo 7 will lead to several road improvements essential to improving current infrastructure », warns the Saint-Orens Town Hall. “This work will primarily aim to make existing stops, particularly those located around the high school, fully accessible to all users, including people with reduced mobility. In addition, occasional adjustments will be made along the route to optimize traffic flow and reinforce travel safety. »
