Around thirty professionals will take visitors into the luminous and magical world of blacksmithing and introduce this old profession to a wide audience in order to pass on their know-how.

In a joyful concert of hammers on the anvil, blacksmiths will create pieces in “workshop” stands, in front of the public. And, on both sides, the pleasure of exchanging. These blacksmithing days are organized by the Rêves de Forge association, created by two ironworkers from the village, Gérard Besset and Frédéric Millet and a cutler Loïc Héritier. Their common passion for blacksmithing and their expertise in their respective fields led to the creation of this unique association, which aims to promote the crafts of blacksmithing and metalwork to a wide audience. . Ironworkers, locksmiths, cutlers, metalworkers, farriers, sculptors, etc., are keen to introduce these old trades to a wide audience and share their passion.

Pieces sold for the benefit of an association

At the same time, there will also be demonstrations of elementary techniques: volute, bulge hole, spear point, edge cutting, knife forging…

The blacksmith profession has existed since metals were discovered around 5,000 BC, and the biblical blacksmith Tubalcain (brother of Noah in Genesis) is said to have invented the art of working iron and bronze. ..

Since then, little by little, this activity has become a profession in its own right. The gestures and tools have barely evolved over time. “Master of iron, water and fire”, the ironworker tames the fire in his forge, transforms the iron as he wishes…

The unique pieces produced will be sold for the benefit of the association.
