Nearly fifty volunteers responded to the municipality’s invitation to participate in Citizens’ Day on May 25. The village has in fact been part of this national system for several years, which brings together 1,500 municipalities and 30,000 participants.
After a little welcome coffee, the teams were formed, the tasks to be accomplished distributed: maintaining in good condition the six marked trails in the town, the path linking Ganac to the hamlet of Lample, the edges of the stream at Carrigas, weeding of the pétanque court, cleaning and refreshing of the war memorial.
Note that a small group of children accompanied by their parents took charge of collecting cigarette butts and various trash in the streets of the village. They were equipped with the cleaning kit provided by Smectom with the support of the Region.
Add to that the good weather which joined the operation after a long series of gloomy days, a good conclusion was necessary: beautiful day, rich in exchanges and sharing, closed with a friendly meal offered by the town hall which took end around 3:30 p.m. And for good reason since, another satisfaction, the victory of Stade Toulousain in the final of the European Cup came to complete the day.
