In this month of June, several changes should be highlighted. As at the beginning of every month, June corresponds to deadlines. We summarize what to note in your diaries in this article.

Parcoursup

High school students and students undergoing reorientation received this Thursday, May 30, 2024, the first responses to their wishes on the Parcoursup platform. A key moment, after two and a half months of waiting.

“Candidates who have not received any admission offer will be able, from June 11, 2024, to make new wishes in training courses that still have places available”, specifies the national education system. A date not to be missed for those disappointed with the first stage.

Second year student internship

This is another important deadline for high school students. The latter must this year complete an internship in a company from June 17 to 28, 2024.

“This initiative aims to enable each high school student to deepen their knowledge of the professions and receive support in the preparation of their choice of orientation, reminds the government. But the prospect is blocked for many students, at an impasse due to lack of an internship.

Gas prices

The price of gas increases on June 1st. “At 1er June 2024, the variable part including tax increases compared to the month of May by €2.00/MWh for typical cooking/hot water and heating consumers,” indicates the energy regulation commission.

Concretely, this represents an increase of almost 2%. “The average benchmark price including tax increased by 1.8% between May and June 2024, going from €111.19/MWh to €113.19/MWh” indicates the CRE.

Taxes

Last deadline for the last departments. While departments 20 to 54 had until May 30 to complete their tax return online, latecomers from departments 55 to 976 now only have a few days left. They only have until June 6, 11 p.m. 59.

Address change

The 3DS law, for differentiation, decentralization, deconcentration and simplification, adopted in February 2022, extends to municipalities with less than 2,000 inhabitants the obligation to name their streets and number the buildings.

As the website of the association of mayors of France explains, until now if no text obliged municipalities to name their roads, “indirectly, municipalities with more than 2,000 inhabitants were required to do so because they had to transmit the list of their routes to the DGFiP”. They had until June 1 to comply, which meant that on that date, many French people obtained a new address.

My psychological support

From June 15, this system put in place by the government to allow psychological support for people “in mental suffering of mild to moderate intensity”, which allows access to sessions “with an approved psychologistreimbursed by Health Insurance, as part of a care pathway directed by a doctor” evolves with:

  • The increase in reimbursement for sessions, passing from 30 to 50 euros,
  • the possibility of directly consult a psychologist without going to a doctor,
  • a extension of the number of annual sessions coveredpassing from 8 to 12.

Medical procedures

Several medical procedures are simplified starting in June, in order to save healthcare professionals time.

Among the changes, “THE pharmacists will have the possibility of directly delivering antibiotic prescriptions for the treatment of tonsillitis and cystitis and the opticians will be able to adjust the glasses correction if it does not correspond to the time of the test”details the government website.

Banned substances

Cannabis derivatives will be banned for sale and consumption in France from June 3. “We have taken the decision to classify new cannabinoids on the list of narcotics due to risks and possible dependence linked to their use. This list includes in particular the H4-CBD, H2-CBD […]. Thus, their production, sale and use in particular are prohibited in France from June 3, 2024. indicates the ANSM (national drug safety agency) in a press release published on May 24.
