MotoGP, Australia J3, Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati/Ab) responds to Maverick Viñales: “in his place, I would have worried about his condition rather than giving the finger”

Marco Bezzecchi was really unlucky during the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix. The VR46 Racing Team driver finished Sunday’s race in last position after a crash at Turn 4 and a Long Lap penalty for the Sprint Race accident with Maverick Viñales.

The clash between the two pilots, which took place during the

Sprint Race
left its mark not only on a physical level, but also in their relationship. While
Bezzecchi said he apologized for the incident,
Vinales seemed skeptical, saying he had not received an apology when he spoke publicly.

In a statement to Sky Sport MotoGP,
Bezzecchi explained his version of the incident for which he was sanctioned: “ Maverick passed me on the straight, a little too close, and with the wind, I went very far to the left. I tried to go back to the right to avoid the vibrator before braking, but he stood completely in front of me. It was already difficult to stop without anyone in front, so with him in front it was even harder. »

Marco Bezzecchi: « In my opinion, we both have a share of responsibility in this incident »

Bezzecchi added: “ he braked a little earlier than usual, and I couldn’t avoid him. It was obviously not my intention to hit him, but in my opinion, we both have some responsibility for this incident. I accepted the penalty, but I would like to point out that I braked like every lap.
»

The clash did not stop on the track. As soon as
Vinales got up, he expressed his frustration with an explicit gesture towards Bezzecchistill on the ground. The Spaniard then demanded a penalty for his rival and was particularly critical in post-race interviews.

Marco Bezzecchifor his part, regretted the attitude of Vinales : « In his place, I would have worried about how the other driver was doing instead of giving him the finger and attacking me in all his interviews. »

Despite the incident, Bezzecchi assured that he was fine, although he suffered some pain in his shoulder and right leg. He remains focused on the future and hopes to bounce back in the next races.

Vinales is (the usual) miracle worker, if he is wanted or is Bezzecchi's fault? Stoner, Bagnaia and Espargaró have clear ideas
