The excellent 65-inch LG OLED C3 TV is finally half price, a year after its release

LG’s C range has established itself as the benchmark for OLED TVs, and the OLED65C3 model is certainly no exception to this rule. At the moment, this TV that we have tested and approved is much less expensive than before: at Rue du Commerce, you can find it at 1,349 euros instead of 2,890 euros at launch.

After launching its excellent C2 series, LG caused a sensation with the latter’s heirs, the OLED TVs of the C3 range. If these models do not encroach on the borders of the manufacturer’s ultra high-end G3 series, they still offer very interesting characteristics, such as greater brightness or even excellent colorimetry management. An excellent TV, in short, which received a rating of 9/10 in our columns, and which is especially today at half price.

The strong points of the LG OLED65C3 TV

  • A very bright OLED panel
  • WebOS with new functions
  • Four HDMI 2.1 ports

Launched at a price of 2,890 euros, the LG OLED65C3 TV is now offered at 1,349 euros at Rue du Commerce, instead of 1,699 euros over the last 30 days.

LG OLED65C3 at the best price?

An OLED TV that doesn’t neglect brightness

As usual, LG has opted for a particularly thin and elegant design for its OLED65C3 model, which benefits from almost invisible borders, and therefore an impeccable screen-to-body ratio. A design similar to that of the C2, therefore. The main new features can be found on the screen side. The 65-inch OLED panel allows us to benefit from increased brightness, in particular thanks to the TV’s Brightness Booster technology. During our test, in Filmmaker mode, we measured a peak brightness of 835 cd/m² for a 10% window, a value higher than that offered by the C2 (780 cd/m² under the same conditions). A very good point when we know that brightness is generally the biggest weak point of OLED TVs.

The LG OLED65C3 screen also supports HLG, HDR10, Dolby Vision and even Dolby Vision IQ modes. The 6th generation Alpha 9 image processing processor offers even more power to the television in order to obtain better responsiveness in image adjustments. Content scaling is also more precise than on C2 TVs. The scenes are therefore very well detailed, with good sharpness as a bonus. On the audio side, the C3 is compatible with the DTS: offer more immersive sound. The TV is also capable of automatically adjusting the audio settings depending on the type of program viewed, in order to enhance immersion.

Gamers will be served

The LG OLED65C3 is obviously designed for gamers, as evidenced by its four HDMI 3.1 inputs which allow 4K@120fps display. VRR optimization functions for variable frequencies, ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for reduced latency and response time, as well as Nvidia’s FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatibility to combat screen tearing are also present. Let us add to this a input lag of 12.5 ms with Game Optimizer mode activated, which can even drop to 9.2 ms with the “Reinforcer” function. One of the lowest poster delay times on the market.

Finally, the TV integrates the new version of the WebOS 23 system, which offers several improvements, such as the implementation of Quick Cards (thumbs corresponding to different activities) or the personalized image mode, which allows the user to choose the type of image you prefer and see your TV automatically configure the image parameters.
