The Association of investigating magistrates (AFMI) and the two main magistrates’ unions asked on Tuesday to also be received “as soon as possible” by the Minister of Justice, and associated with the plan to reorganize judicial extractions.

Éric Dupond-Moretti signed an agreement on Tuesday with the inter-union of prison guards committing to putting in place around thirty measures (the timetable is not yet set) to improve the security of agents ensuring prison transfers, after the attack on a van which cost the lives of two of them last week.

The agreement provides in particular to limit transfers of detainees to the courts, thanks to the development of videoconference hearings by judges, and to favor the travel of magistrates and clerks within prisons for certain detainees, instead of bringing them to court. .

“A court is a place where justice is rendered in the name of the French people. To no longer do so would mark a retreat by the State, giving in to threats from criminal groups. This admission of weakness would be a very worrying signal for our democracy.underlined in a press release the AFMI as well as the Magistrates’ Union (SM, classified on the left) and the Union of Magistrates (USM, majority).
