“We don’t consider it a risky match,” a police officer immediately indicates. While FC Lorient (Morbihan) will host FC Annecy, Saturday October 19, 2024, the security system will be “classic for a Ligue 2 match”. Around twenty members of the police will be deployed for the event. And for good reason. Only around ten supporters of the Haute-Savoie club are expected to make the trip. “And Lorient supporters have no history of disputes with them”says a police officer.
The instruction to “be careful”
As a reminder, during the last home match against AC Ajaccio, violent clashes opposed the Merlus Ultras to their Corsican counterparts. Two people from Lorient – including the capo of Merlus Ultras – had also been arrested and prosecuted for violence and degradation in meetings. According to our information, the lawyers of the two Merlus would have asked the group “to keep your cool” until the trial on November 8.
