The large Skoda station wagon enriches its range with a plug-in hybrid version traditionally called iV. The base price is €52,160 in Selection finish. For memory the plug-in estate combines a 1.5 TSI 150 hp petrol engine with an electric motor for a cumulative power of 204 hp. The battery with a gross capacity of 25.7 kWh theoretically allows it to travel up to 159 km in electric mode in the city and more than 100 km in the combined cycle. Recharging on direct current requires 30 minutes for a full electron charge of 10 to 80% of the battery.
This fourth generation of the Skoda Superb combines the iV plug-in hybrid engine only with the estate version (Combi) but leaves the choice between all the finishes in the Selection, Laurin & Klement catalog, and, later in the year, the Sportline version will come backup.

This plugged-in hybrid version still limits the loading volume of the large Skoda station wagon, the capacity of which drops by 27% from 690 liters on the thermal versions – including the 150 hp TDI version (read our review) – and simple hybrids at 510 liters in 5 places under tablet in PHEV. This is why the Skoda Superb sedan is not offered in a plug-in hybrid version, its hold would suffer too much. The first deliveries of the Skoda Superb Combi iV will take place during the month of July.
