Barnier Governmentdossier

Benjamin Haddad lived in the United States between 2014 and 2022. The positions held in think tanks, and the remuneration that goes with them, fuel rumors of collusion, which the minister denies.

“Benjamin Haddad, a minister of Europhile Europe… and (very) close to the United States”. In an article published at the end of September, the sovereignist review Popular front was moved by the Atlanticist profile of government minister Barnier, ironically: “There are good and bad interferences.” In question: the“exile” of Benjamin Haddad in the United States between 2014 and 2022, where he worked for two think tanks, the Hudson Institute and the Atlantic Council, from which he received “45,800 euros per year net at Hudson”, but above all “between 100,000 and 150,000 net for each full year” within the Atlantic Council.

These emoluments, as well as the “American” pedigree of the new minister responsible for European Affairs, have fueled numerous rumors, accusations and suspicions since his appointment, particularly in sovereignist and pro-Russian spheres. François Asselineau, president of the UPR, wrote a long tweet to retrace the journey of Benjamin Hadda
