- Noah: “We planned to eliminate the woman”
She would have sacrificed her mother in the name of love. Sarah (fictitious first name), 14, was arrested on Thursday for complicity by the MCIT in the investigation into the murder of her mother Noorezza Abdoolah, 46. Her boyfriend Noah confessed everything.
The plan hatched by the two teenagers sends shivers down your spine. Sarah, according to 15-year-old Noah, would be an accomplice in his mother’s crime. “We have no plan to eliminate madam la”, it is with these words that the alleged murderer of Noorezza Abdoolah incriminated the daughter of the deceased in the attack that occurred in Vallée-Pitot, on Wednesday October 2, 2024. Last Thursday, she was placed under arrest by MCIT sleuths under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikash Seebaruth. Faced with the accusations made against her, the teenager remained silent during a hearing which her father attended. She was produced before the Children’s Court for provisional arraignment on Thursday, before being placed at the Correctional Youth Center (CYC). In the coming days, his hearing will take place in the presence of a psychologist and an officer appointed by the court, and will be recorded under video surveillance. Her boyfriend, Noah, remains in detention at the Rehabilitation Youth Center (RYC) in Petite-Rivière.
A mother who is too strict
Sarah, who mentioned a case of theft gone wrong at the start of the affair, is behind Noah’s arrest. At this stage of the investigation, the latter has already admitted to having strangled Noorezza during a violent argument, before abandoning her inert on the floor of his kitchen. However, if at first he spoke of an unforeseen situation, he ended up admitting that he and Sarah were plotting to end Noorezza. According to Noah, it was Sarah who suggested killing his mother. She would have confided to him that the latter’s severity made their relationship impossible. This is what he revealed to MCIT investigators during his filmed hearings at the Central Barracks.
This is how the two teenagers decided to take action to end Noorezza in order to live their romance. However, they had not planned to do so on October 2 when, on the day of the tragedy, Noah had a meeting with his girlfriend at her home. However, when Noorezza surprised Noah in the house, he claims he took the opportunity to carry out their plan. With Sarah’s alleged complicity, he took action. In the meantime, while her mother was living her last moments, the teenager locked herself in her room. A few hours after the incident, simulating a theft that had gone wrong in her house, she called a relative to inform them of the tragedy. She mentioned that her mother was violently attacked by a suspected thief and that she had to take refuge in her room.
A lying story calmly constructed
On the day of the tragedy, during her hearing as a witness, Sarah was briefly interviewed by the MCIT. With composure, she told a series of lies. Indeed, in her version, she had provided inconsistent descriptions and details to the police. First, she claimed not to know Noah, before finally admitting that he was her boyfriend. Then, she recognized that the latter was the author of the attack which cost her mother’s life. Then, she explained to investigators that a stranger would be brought into her house to attack her mother. The police suspect that she was present at the time of her mother’s murder, but that she remained silent out of love for Noah. The next few days will be decisive for the investigation.
