He has not always started and if we except the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund (0-3), and that against La Gantoise (2-4), in the championship, has not yet played any meeting in its entirety on behalf of Club Bruges this season.

Andreas Skov Olsen is, however, the top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League with four goals, one more than Gustaf Nilsson and his captain Hans Vanaken, but also undoubtedly the best player altogether, or perhaps even the best in the Belgian competition.

The 24-year-old Danish artist, however, came very close to leaving Club Brugge for Feyenoord during the last transfer window, and would undoubtedly be performing today at Kuip in the Eredivisie, if his Belgian employer had accepted the final offer of Rotterdam.

On the deadline day, Feyenoord nevertheless thought they had a chance of snatching it from Club Brugge, when they accepted the price asked by the Belgian champions.

Director Dennis te Kloese believed in it, but Club Brugge held firm, and decided to keep Skov Olsen at Jan Breydel.

The club’s top scorer in JPL after ten days, the latter however does not want to dwell on this failure.

“That might have interested me!”

Questioned by the Danish daily The tip sheetSkov Olsen, don’t Football International translated the interview (https://tinyurl.com/3jj883b3), confirming Feyenoord’s strong advances.

“They were very concrete and both detailed to me what they were offering me, and expected from me in exchange…”, he confides.

Skov Olsen, however, did not have time to think about the offer declined by his current club.

“Otherwise it might have interested me,” he admits.

“Everything is going well for me here…”

Ultimately, the Danish international with 34 caps (8 goals) has no regrets about having stayed in Bruges.

“No, everything is going well for me here. I have a lot of playing time and my start to the season is successful. The Jupiler Pro League is a good championship with many strong teams and excellent players. I am am therefore happy…”, he concludes.

In total, Skov Olsen has already worn the blue-and-zwart striped jacket 109 times, scoring 45 goals and providing 25 assists.
