Slayer in 2024: A brief reunion

Slayer, who retired from the stage in 2019, made a temporary return in 2024 with a few surprise performances, including at Riot Fest in Chicago and the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on October 10. Although their performance at Louder Than Life was canceled due to Hurricane Helene, Slayer’s 2024 concerts marked their first stage appearance since their retirement.

This unexpected return, coupled with the launch of Slaytanic Verses, demonstrates the group’s desire to continue to nurture the legacy it has built for more than four decades, while offering its fans privileged access to memories and iconic moments in their history.
