A head-on collision on Route 132 left one person dead Thursday evening in the Maria sector.
The Sûreté du Québec reports that the accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Route Lapointe.
The spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Frédéric Deshaies, explains that a vehicle collided with a heavy goods vehicle during an overtaking maneuver. The driver of the vehicle, a man in his thirties, was alone on board and suffered significant injuries.
His death was pronounced on the spot. The truck driver escaped unhurt.
A collision scene investigator was dispatched to the scene. Traffic is moving alternately while the road is decontaminated due to the diesel from the truck which has spilled onto the road.
