The roads can sometimes be the scene of tragedies, collisions or even collisions. The authorities have so far counted 711 injury accidents since the start of the year. Since January 1, 2024, 25 people have lost their lives. Other people find themselves injured, hospitalized and sometimes traumatized.
In November 2015, Stéphane was the victim of a serious motorcycle accident in Saint-Gilles. A car cut him off while he was traveling at 110 km/h. This tragedy radically changed his life.
During 3 years of convalescence, rehabilitation and combat, he lost his job as an engineer in photovoltaics. After a professional change, the man opened a bungee jumping business in Saint-Leu. He testifies.
“I had a near death experience. I spent almost a year in hospital and underwent 8 operations, my leg almost had to be amputated twice. After 3 years, I started walking again. I didn’t see my children for 1 year, I lost my partner and my job“, confides Stéphane.
Although his body and mind are forever scarred, he was able to get up and cope.
