The alert was given very early this Saturday morning by the police. It was around 6:30 in the morning. While on patrol, they saw smoke escaping from the first floor of the building, a building in the Tréboul district of Douarnenez.
The firefighters tried to help, in vain, the first person who was on the ground, having gone out to escape the smoke. They also found the lifeless body of a second person inside one of the apartments.
Other people were reportedly injured in the fire. The building was completely evacuated of its occupants.
The police are still on the scene. A magistrate from the Quimper public prosecutor's office is also on site and an investigation has been opened.
