A member of the National Chamber of Olive Press Owners, Adel Al-Tabini, said today Tuesday that “olive oil prices will experience a decline at the local level,” noting that “prices have increased last year due to their link with supply and demand and the drop in production in Spain, unlike the current year.
He explained that “the current price of oil in the Spanish market is estimated at 5 euros and could fall further”, emphasizing that “production in Spain, the world benchmark for prices, is considered good at the moment .
Tabini stressed that “the genetic composition of olive oil in Tunisia reveals that the current product is outside the standards that allow us to export it”, estimating that “from next week, this composition will improve”.
