With two games remaining in the 2024 regular season, Concordia collects a second victory.

Brad Collinson’s squad finds itself with a 2-4 record, while the Vert & Or is still looking for a first victory (0-6).

(5-0) and Montreal (5-1) dominate the Quebec rankings, ahead of McGill (2-3), Concordia (2-4).

Sherbrooke will be at McGill next Friday, before playing its last match of the season at home, against the Rouge et Or.

On Saturday, the Vert & Or believed they had secured a good option for victory, while running back Jonathan Martel (12 races, 147 yards and a touchdown) scored a touchdown following a solid run of 68 yards for the touchdown.

Sherbrooke therefore found itself ahead 24-13 at the half.

The Vert & Or even added a placement from Antoine Couture, to take a 27-13 lead, before the sky fell on their heads.

The Stingers scored three touchdowns, including one with a two-point convert, to take the lead at the very end of the game, thus driving the final nail in the coffin of the Vert & Or.

Sherbrooke, still without a victory, finds itself faced with the obligation to win its last two games, against McGill and Laval, if it wants to continue its season.

Turnovers hurt both teams; Jérémy Fyfe (15 in 25, for 190 yards, two touchdowns) threw two interceptions, each time the feat of Mendel Joseph, while the Stingers committed three turnovers. Jérémy Turbide and Benjamin Huot among others made interceptions.

Olivier Roy (14 in 25 for 218 yards, one touchdown pass) made two interceptions.

A disappointing result for the Sherbrookois who, for the first time, amassed more yards on offense than their opponents, 402 against 351.

The Sherbrooke ground attack still amassed 220 yards, one of their good performances of the season.

The match started well for Sherbrooke.

Kicker Antoine Couture gave Sherbrooke a 1-0 lead by scoring a single on the kickoff.

Jérémy Fyfe subsequently joined Jonathan Martel on a yard, and Kevin Morin on 11 yards and, with Martel’s long run for the touchdown, the Vert & Or were in the car after 30 minutes of play.
