During the night from Monday to Tuesday, two cars were set on fire in the 16th.
The disaster spread, destroying a dozen cars but also two-wheelers.
The alleged perpetrator claimed responsibility for his actions in a note.
He was arrested this Tuesday.
It was around 1:30 a.m. on the night of Monday to Tuesday when firefighters were called to intervene on several burning vehicles near the Passy metro station, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
Arriving on site shortly after, firefighters extinguished the fire at 2:05 a.m. which had spread to other parked vehicles. According to a police Source, a total of twelve vehicles caught fire, two of which were destroyed, as well as six two-wheelers.
“It will be more serious soon”
Still according to this Source, a note was discovered in front of 4 rue Eugène Manuel, on which several names and first names were written, of doctors and lawyers in particular, as well as the following inscription: “All murderers and criminal crooks, I have been their victim for four years, the neighborhood residents, you are witnesses, it will be more serious soon.”
The judicial night processing service (STJN) went to the site as well as the central laboratory of the Paris Police Prefecture to carry out the readings and findings.
Investigation opened for “degradation by dangerous means”
Contacted this Tuesday by TF1info, the Paris prosecutor’s office indicated that it had charged the 16th arrondissement police station with an open investigation into “deterioration by dangerous means for people, following the fire of two vehicles on rue Eugène Manuel, the fire having spread to a dozen parked vehicles and having blackened the facade of the building in the immediate vicinity.” However, he did not give any information concerning the word that was found.
According to a Source close to the investigation, the alleged perpetrator was arrested during the day on Tuesday. The latter had apparently been harassing the people mentioned in his note for some time, and more particularly a doctor. He was, according to the Source, dissatisfied with the results of a legal expertise concerning an accident in which he was allegedly involved and had already expressed his dissatisfaction several times to these people.
Questioned about this arrest, the Paris prosecutor’s office had not, as of 7:00 p.m., responded to our request for confirmation.
