The increase in the “health index”, used to calculate the indexation of salaries, social benefits and rents, would reach 3.1% in 2024 and 2% in 2025, compared to 4.33% in 2023 and 9, 25% in 2022.

The pivotal index for social benefits and salaries in the public sector was exceeded last April. It was last reached in October 2023.

Social benefits and salaries in the public sector will therefore be adapted to the cost of living and increased by 2% in May and June respectively.

The Planning Bureau predicts that the pivotal index will be exceeded again in February 2025.
