END OF LIVE – Guest of franceinfo Friday evening, the Minister of Health wanted to clarify the government’s position on the question of State Medical Aid (AME) which is aimed at people in an irregular situation in France. While the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, recently stated that he wanted to review the criteria for obtaining the AME, Geneviève Darrieussecq banged her fist on the table: “There is no question of touching Aid state medical office.” She also recalled the conclusions of the report by Claude Evin and Patrick Stefanini last December on the AME which “says very simply that it is a useful and well-managed system, and controlled very strictly by health insurance. So on this point, I want everyone to be reassured.” While the journalist followed up on the words of Bruno Retailleau, who considered that the AME encourages immigration, Geneviève Darrieussecq dotted the i’s: “I’m a doctor, I talk about medicine and public health . As Franceinfo was able to observe, Kanak independence activist Emmanuel Tjibaou did not sign the motion of censure tabled this Friday by the left against the government. He is the only one of the 193 deputies affiliated to the New Popular Front for not having done so.
