The competition team of the Souillac baton twirling club traveled to Blagnac (Haute-Garonne) for the regional national sports baton twirling championship 3. And it did well since it returned with five championship titles. Occitanie!

From the start of the competition, the tone was set: the pairs Louise Sclafer / Mayleen Barbet (junior) and Jade De Baralle / Jade Sournac (senior) won a gold medal on Saturday morning. Maylenn Barbet continued this good momentum by taking the first step of the cadet solo podium, after a high quality performance.

On Sunday at the end of the afternoon, the two teams each received the title of champions of Occitanie. The junior team (Clara Falgère, Maïssa Jamali, Cerise Mouchet, Clara Granelet, Alicia Hereil, Capucine Dolle) and the senior team (Louise Sclafer, Mayleen Barbet, Jade Sournac, Elsa Cambonie, Savannah Thirion and Jade De Baralle) thus closed this weekend full of emotions in the most beautiful way.

The club’s smallest competitors also put in a very good performance since Lorena Mediavilla and Juliette Toulet finished 3rd among the youngest duos and therefore left with a bronze medal around their necks.

In addition to the regional championship, qualifications for the semi-finals of the French championship were also played out during this competition. If the medalists have of course earned their place, they are not the only ones. Indeed, even if the podium narrowly escaped them this time, Clara in minimal solo, Louise in cadet solo, Savannah in junior solo as well as the junior duo Savannah and Elsa also qualified for this next stage. We don’t forget Jade and Elsa in junior solo and Stessy Verdegay in minimal solo, for whom the adventure ends there after a great journey; It’s only been postponed until next season. Let us congratulate all these athletes but also their coaches and wish them to shine as brightly during the semi-finals of the French championship.
