“When I grow up, I will cook for the Cannes Film Festival”. At 15, Jean Imbert called his parents to assure them that he would achieve his dream. Guest of What an era! this Saturday, May 18, the cook, who inaugurated his new gourmet restaurant at the Martinez hotel in Cannesnotably spoke behind the scenes of the dinner organized in honor of the president of the jury for the 2024 edition, Greta Gerwig.

The starred chef also said that he was long time movie fan. “When you are resourceful in Cannes, you can get there,” explained the man who, when he was young, worked as a cook on boats during the festival.

Last Monday, May 13,ean Imbert therefore organized the meal during which the president of the jury received and met the other members of the committee for the first time. The cook recounted some details of the event to Léa Salamé: “Omar Sy, who I know well, relaxed the atmosphere”, laughed the one who concocted an entirely pink menu, in homage to the film Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig. Jean Imbert notably designed a beet mousse with caviar in the shape of the Palme d’Or.
