At the call of the Conference of Presidents of France, many bars across the country mobilized, Monday May 6, 2024, to call for the release of the four French hostages held in Iran since 2022.

This date was not chosen at random. Two of the four hostages, Cécile Kohler and her companion Jacques Paris, were arrested on May 7, 2022.

The two other French people have been detained since September 28, 2022 for Louis Arnaud, and October 16, 2022 for Olivier (his family does not wish to make his name public).

A motion proposed to Briochin lawyers

In Saint-Brieuc, around ten lawyers gathered on the steps of the courthouse at midday, alongside the public prosecutor, Nicolas Heitz.

Me Karine Rivoallan, very committed to the release of the hostages, spoke first, followed by Me Xavier Denecker, the Briochin president.

The latter read the motion of the Conference of Presidents, before indicating that a motion would be proposed for a vote to the council of the Saint-Brieuc Bar Association. At the start of the morning, several students from the Saint-Brieuc law faculty also gathered.
