This Sunday evening in Besançon, all eyes are on the sky, where a black plume of smoke is visible several kilometers around. A spectacularly large fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. on rue Savary, near the Ledoux high school, in the Temis area.
A building apparently under renovation is engulfed in flames several meters high. Many police officers converged on the scene to establish a large security perimeter and keep away the large number of curious onlookers. The objective? Allow firefighters engaged in contact with the blaze to limit the spread to other buildings.

The mayor of Besançon, Anne Vignot, has just arrived on the scene. The noise and heat released by the fire are striking. As a safety measure, Enedis cut off electricity in a very large sector of the district, mainly made up of offices and professional premises.
It remains to be seen the origin of this impressive disaster. Once the situation is under control, the investigation will have to determine it.
