Gérard Henry, former mayor of Nostang (Morbihan), died on Saturday May 4, at the age of 71, following a long illness.
Elected in 1983 as municipal councilor during the mandate of Mayor Paul Leroux, then as mayor in 1989. He will serve two successive terms.
An invested mayor
He contributed, with his team, to the work and development of sanitation in the town, to the creation of the Espace des Grands Chênes and the Verger and Kreisker social housing. Gérard Henry also significantly contributed to the buyout, by the intermunicipality, of the village of Remoulin, as well as to its renovation which began in 1995

The former mayor always wanted to maintain the Blavet Bellevue Océan (BBO) Community entity with five municipalities by resisting with the elected officials of the time to maintain this.
In 1992, he participated, alongside René Cougoulat, Gérard Le Bihan and the members of the Boul Sapin interchange defense committee, in the creation of the committee and the defense of the interchange.
Twinning with Bois d’Amont
In 1995, Gérard Henry initiated the twinning committee with the commune of Bois d’Amont in Jura (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), a twinning completed in 1997. I remember that he and an advisor were tasked with finding a town to twin

The funeral of Gérard Henry will take place on Tuesday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m., at Sainte-Radegonde church, in Riantec. The former mayor will then be buried in Nostang.
