Dell is definitely a reliable manufacturer, both for laptops and office screens. The Dell XPS 14 is an iconic model, and it’s been a while since it last changed. With this 2024 vintage, Dell has chosen to borrow the aesthetic codes of the Plus models. The result is a superb design, particularly original in a market that is sorely lacking in it. The Oled panel is sublime, with a high definition of 3200 x 2000 pixels and ideal calibration. In addition to that, the XPS does not lack power, thanks to an Intel Core Ultra 7 165H chip and an RTX 4050 (however limited to 30W). We will note successful points that are yet often neglected: a Full HD webcam that does its job well and really effective speakers. The autonomy is honest without being exceptional.

In short, a high-quality computer, which will suit creative people looking for efficiency and style. However, it is not cheap since you will still have to invest 2700 euros to take advantage of the RTX 4050 and the 3.2K screen…

Available at
€1,299 on Amazon

The MacBook Air M3 embodies a great achievement. Apple’s bestseller is good on all points, and it is therefore one of the best ultrabooks on the market. If it is not the lightest in 2024, it nevertheless has a screen of exceptional quality, an impeccable design and keyboard and an autonomy that is currently unbeatable. The changes are certainly slight compared to the 2022 model. We will especially note the transition to the M3 chip, which provides 20% more performance, particularly on the GPU part which takes a good boost. We also note the transition to Wi-Fi 6E. Battery life is still excellent and you will be able to last a full day away from a power outlet.

This new model is therefore a good option for those looking for a powerful MacBook, but still affordable compared to the Pro range. Note that the 15-inch big brother is also included.

  • Particularly powerful

  • Well-controlled heating

  • A balanced screen

Available at
€2,449 on RueDuCommerce

Gigabyte, a well-known manufacturer of graphics cards, is relaunching its Aorus range with a very successful model, the Aorus 16X. This gaming laptop has everything you need: power to spare, controlled heating, a bright 16-inch screen, complete connectivity. Its chassis, very marked “gaming”, is of quality, as are the keyboard and touchpad. In terms of performance, it offers the best in 2024 and it runs the most recent games at full speed in 1600p without blinking. This is made possible by the integration of an Intel Core i9-14900HX chip, an RTX 4070, and no less than 32 GB of DDR5 RAM at 5600 MHz. We will also note with satisfaction good autonomy, because the Aorus offers (in office use) between 6 and 7 hours of use, which is really not bad for a gaming PC.

In short, a great gaming laptop, reliable and very powerful, all at a fair price for the market.
