Tele-Leisure : What state of mind were you in when approaching these Cross Battles?
Liz: The competition started from the Battles but this was really the first time since the blind auditions that we defended a title alone. This is very significant. We really bare ourselves at that moment.

How did you react when you found out you were opposed to Mewhy?
What I’m about to say may seem very naive, but it was one of my favorite talents with a rather crazy force of interpretation. So I was super excited to hear what he was doing, because I hadn’t seen him in rehearsal. But humanly, it was a bit heartbreaking to find myself face to face with him because there was a risk that he would leave.

In Cross Battles, it is the public present in the studio The Voice who is the decision-maker. Does that change your behavior on stage?
Yes, I think that unconsciously, it plays a role. But when you are an artist, you sing for an audience, whether you are in The Voice or not. There, there is this little apprehension of saying that if the public does not like us, not only will we leave the show, but it could also call into question our status as artists. We therefore want him to see us more as a person than as a candidate.

Zazie was in tears at the end of your performance. Have you noticed it?
I wasn’t focused on his emotions but I saw it afterwards, yes. I don’t remember exactly what she said to me but I was very touched by her words.

It’s an accomplishment! When we do The Voice, it’s huge because it’s a show that has existed for a long time and is very identified. But we also do this show because we are artists and we want to succeed in what we do.

Are you still in contact with Zazie at the moment? Did she give you her number?
No. Zazie is very busy, she is a great lady. I say this without irony or condescension.

The final score of these Cross battles was very close since you won by just seven votes according to Nikos Aliagas. What do you think made the difference?
I don’t think there’s really an objective answer. What made the difference were everyone’s tastes and colors.

Have you received any offers from record labels?
I prefer to remain evasive for the moment, but there has been progress. I did my first Parisian concert last Saturday. In parallel with my selection at The Voice, I was also surprised to be the winner of the Fair artist support program. Artists like Pomme or Eddy de Pretto have benefited from this in the past. I will also be in concert on June 24 at the Café de la danse in Paris for a showcase in the presence of all the Fair artists.

Finally, do people still call you Luna Lovegood, the character of Harry Potter who Bigflo compared you to ?
It comes out to me from time to time but it suits me! The slightly perched and dreamy side of the character suits me.
