The National Association of Traders and Artisans (ANCA), organized, Saturday in Algiers, a national conference on the theme “Gold and jewelry in the economic system”, during which participants discussed the organization and development of the gold and jewelry market in Algeria.
In his speech, the president of the ANCA, Hadj Tahar Boulanouar, highlighted the importance of this event in order to promote it and raise it to a level reflecting national capacities in this area.
He also underlined the need to strengthen training, being a fundamental pillar for the promotion of this profession, in addition to the fight against the parallel market and the tightening of sanctions on this subject.
For his part, the president of the jewelry and precious metals commission within the ANCA, Mr. Nabil Djeradi, called for the updating of the legal framework governing this activity and the granting of incentives for the benefit of professionals , notably through direct and indirect tax reductions, emphasizing the need to facilitate the movement of gold merchants with their goods within the national territory.
Djeradi affirmed that the commission he chairs is working in collaboration with experts to develop concrete proposals for the organization and development of the gold and precious jewelry market in Algeria, with a view to submitting them to the ministry. of Finance, in the best interests of all stakeholders.
The economist Boubaker Salami, for his part, estimated that the examination of the legal framework governing this activity by professionals and experts, with the participation of representatives of all sectors concerned, will make it possible to identify gaps, improve the performance of this sector and to ensure better organization in the service of the national economy.
He also stressed the need to combat the parallel market and gradually apply new legal systems in this area.
