VSIt was finally at Cosec that the Prox’Aventure day was held on Saturday May 4 in Romilly-sur-Seine. The actually pushed the organizers to move the event which was to be held in the heart of the priority district. There, numerous activities, notably supervised by around ten volunteer police officers from the Raid Aventure Organization association, were offered.

Objective: to break down the barrier between the population and the police through activities in a friendly setting but also through direct dialogue between young people and the police. Like this constructive exchange which takes place around 12 p.m. between around thirty users of the Youth Center and the police officers wishing to explain their job and its difficulty not necessarily understood, in particular because of the image conveyed on social networks and often through truncated videos. And to describe “ images broadcast out of context “, “ videos taken at a specific time » without showing what happened before. Hence this tool that the police now have: a camera filming their interventions from start to finish. “ Defense must be proportional to violence », also explained one of them, taking the example of a situation of violence: “ If we cannot resolve it through dialogue, we will adapt to the situation. »

“Breaking stereotypes”

Laser gun shooting, test route to join the police, professional technical intervention gestures such as handcuffing, etc. were among the activities offered.

This is an action aimed at young people as part of the city contract. It is supported by the State and Aube Habitat », indicated Marie-Thérèse Lucas, community representative of Portes de Romilly-sur-Seine: “ In Romilly, we have already organized three stays at the Raid Aventure in (Eure-et-Loir). The young people came back delighted. » This day was therefore an opportunity to benefit even more young people. “ The idea is to break stereotypes and create a bond in a context different from everyday life in an educational, civic, festive and sporting atmosphere. », Also argued sub-prefect Aurélie Contrecivile.

The Fête le mur association, which offers tennis lessons with the Romilly Tennis club, supported by Mon Logis, within the priority district, was also there.
