Mardi 1is October 2024, at 7:51 a.m., the Côtes-d’Armor firefighters received a call from a motorist to report that she saw smoke escaping from an abandoned house, near the town of Plélauff, near Rostrenen, in Central .

Firefighters from Rostrenen, Loudéac, Lamballe and Dinan were dispatched to the scene, at a place called Croaz-Ar-Raden. They discover a house in a very advanced state of disrepair, completely burning down.

The origin of the fire is currently unknown.

According to the emergency services, including a fire group and a building risk specialist due to the threat of the house collapsing, the fire was already well advanced. The origin is currently unknown, but it is certain that nothing remains of the house.

In the rubble, firefighters discovered a deceased person, in a condition which made it impossible to determine whether it was a man or a woman. This Tuesday evening, the identification of this person was not confirmed.

The Côtes-d’Armor gendarmerie group referred the matter to the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, who has not, for the moment, communicated on this matter.
