A judicial investigation into murder was opened two days after the death of Killian Binard, in the parking lot of the Octavia nightclub in Subles, near Bayeux. The main suspect, a 24-year-old man, confessed to being the perpetrator of the fatal blow, but refutes an intention to kill.

Sunday September 29, a violent brawl cost the life of Killian Binard, 17, outside the Octavia nightclub in Subles (). The gathering took place between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., bringing together around twenty belligerents. Victim of several stab wounds in the back and cervical area, the young boxer from Saint-Lo died at the scene of the fight at 7:44 a.m.

Aged 24, temporary worker in the building, he was seen “picking up a knife that was found in his pocket“, according to testimonies collected by gendarmes from the Bayeux gendarmerie research brigade and the Caen research section.

Placed in police custody, the main suspect initially denied any involvement in the victim’s death, explaining that he had tried to intervene in the fight. Faced with investigators, he explained that he had received “punches and tear gas“. Eventually, “without being able to explain the reasons for his action“, he admitted to having taken the knife, unfolded its blade, then struck”the first person in front of him, without the intention of killing”.

At the end of his police custody, the man was referred to the public prosecutor’s office and placed in pre-trial detention on Tuesday, October 1 in the morning. A judicial investigation into murder has been opened. He faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. While awaiting a trial, investigations continue under the supervision of the investigating judge.
