The Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui received, Tuesday at the Government Palace, a delegation from the Republic of Niger, led by the Minister of Oil, Mr. Sahabi Oumarou, who is making a working visit to Algeria, indicates a press release from the services of the Prime Minister.

During this meeting which took place in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, the Nigerien minister “first conveyed the fraternal greetings of the Nigerien President, Mr. Abdourahamane Tiani, to his brother , the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to whom he renewed his warm congratulations for his deserved re-election for a second term,” specifies the same source.

The two parties discussed “the current regional situation, particularly in the Sahel”, welcoming, moreover, “the relations of fraternity, solidarity and cooperation between the two brotherly countries, which are experiencing exceptional dynamics thanks to the particular interest that the two leaders of the two countries agree to the continued strengthening of the historic relations linking the two brotherly countries.”

Concerning bilateral cooperation, the Nigerien minister expressed “his great satisfaction” with the results of his visit, which follows that carried out by the Nigerien Prime Minister, Mr. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, in Algeria last August, praising the quality of his meetings with Algerian officials with a view to strengthening cooperative relations between the two countries, particularly in the hydrocarbon sector.

The meeting also made it possible to discuss the launch of the implementation of the “Kafra” project after the finalization of the plans and related action programs, as well as capacity building through training and promotion of the Algerian experience. in the field of hydrocarbons, particularly oil refining.

The importance of the tripartite trans-Saharan gas pipeline project was also discussed, emphasizing “its strategic nature and its essential role in strengthening regional integration, as well as the need to continue coordination meetings to accelerate its realization, and agreeing to hold a tripartite meeting in Algeria before the end of the current year, in coordination with all parties concerned.
