Gérard Larcher said a few words in tribute to Philippine before the general policy speech, read word for word by Didier Migaud in the Senate, while Michel Barnier delivered it to the National Assembly.
“Like all of you, I was shocked by the murder of this young student”
“On September 21, we learned with horror of the tragic murder of the young Filipino Le Noir from Carlan, killed by a repeat rapist,” declared the President of the Senate. “Like all of you, I was shocked by the murder of this young student from Yvelines. Just 19 years old, but already committed to serving others and who had her life ahead of her,” continues Gérard Larcher. And to conclude: “I believe that the national representation will have to draw all the consequences of such a tragedy so that never again the life of a woman is stolen like this.”
A few minutes before, deputies and government members observed a minute of silence at the National Assembly in tribute to Philippine. “No speech can fill the loss of a child, but let them know that we are at their side in this terrible ordeal,” underlined Yaël Braun-Pivet, in support of parents. Michel Barnier also sent his thoughts to the family and loved ones of the student, as well as to all women victims of violence.”
