For six years, the Alzon Saint-Félix de Beaucaire high school has offered students the opportunity to participate in its Defense class. Various activities and missions are organized by Gard military units.
One of the highlights is the sports day, brilliantly won last year by the establishment. For this third edition of the Defense classes sports challenge, Laetitia Roque, physical education and sports teacher, accompanied and coached the participants at the Kaufmann stadium in Nîmes. This site hosted a dozen Défenses du Gard classes.
The Secretary of State for Cities and Citizenship, Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, visiting Nîmes this Thursday, April 25, took the time to come and greet the participants and watch certain series of sports and citizen workshops.
From Defense class to engaged high school
By responding to the brand new call for projects proposed by the Ministry of National Education Engaged establishments and classes, the Alzon Saint-Félix de Beaucaire high school wanted to affirm the commitment of its students to the authorities.
The general high school will open next September
Based on its educational project, the teachers of second Security professions and second Support care and personal services proposed content and approaches that are part of the teaching and daily educational actions of the high school, and in all firstly, moral and civic teaching and citizenship education. Labeling was obtained for the two themes, defense and memory, and environment. This enabled students to participate in Universal National Service. The cohesion stay took place for twelve days in March.
Currently, teachers and the educational team are setting up various missions of general interest for this end of the year. One of them is the organization of an open day (the general high school opens in September 2024), Friday May 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The establishment located at 90, chemin des Marguilliers will welcome the families of future students of the general and technological high school which will open at the start of the school year in September 2024. The new options: laboratory sciences, engineering sciences, visual arts, modern languages English, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Chinese, will be presented as well as the completely renovated premises (classrooms, professional centers, multipurpose room, self-service and boarding school).
