This May 1st is likely to be rainy and stormy. Météo has placed Eure-et-Loir and on yellow alert for thunderstorms, -floods and floods from midday until the end of the night. The upstream section of the Eure has been placed on yellow flood alert.

Due to a “wave of strong storms, sweeping the regions from Burgundy to Hauts-de-France, between the end of the afternoon of this Wednesday and the night of Wednesday to Thursday”, Météo France places 14 departments on alert (level 3 out of 4) for storms, including the Yonne department.

Thunderstorms, rain-flood and flood for Eure-et-Loir

Regarding Eure-et-Loir, Météo France has placed the department on yellow alert, from this noon, for rain-flooding and from 6 p.m. for a risk of thunderstorms. In terms of temperatures, 10°C for the minimum and 18°C ​​at the best of the day.

Orange alert for thunderstorms in Yvelines from 7 p.m.

Yvelines is placed on yellow alert for thunderstorms from 4 p.m. Organized and sometimes violent thunderstorms will return to the Île-de-France region this Wednesday evening and during the first part of the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Thus, from 7 p.m., Météo France will raise the storm alert level for Yvelines which will be placed in orange. In addition, the department will also be placed on yellow alert for rain-flooding.

Yellow alert on the upstream section of the Eure

Due to heavy rainy spells expected in Centre-Val-de- and , the upstream section of the Eure has been placed on yellow flood alert by Vigicrues for expected rainfall accumulations of around 20 to 30mm and locally 40mm or even 50mm.

Heavy rain will enter the region between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and will continue towards Normandy. Rain will become significant over Normandy after midday.

What to expect ? An unstable rainfall disturbance will give light continuous rain at first, then in the middle of the night, thunderstorms with heavy accumulations. The location of the rains and associated accumulations are uncertain. If the rain forecasts are confirmed, the level of the first overflows could be observed during the morning of Thursday May 2 on the upstream section of the Eure.

This is a low to moderate flood for the season.
